Nine Adults Confirmed at Balzan Parish Church on Pentecost Sunday

8th June 2025

On Pentecost Sunday, nine Catholic adults received the Sacrament of Confirmation during a solemn Mass celebrated by His Lordship Monsignor Joseph Galea-Curmi at Our Lady of the Annunciation Parish Church in Balzan.

The newly confirmed come from diverse backgrounds, hailing from Malta, Colombia, Nigeria, and Italy. Each of them, for various personal reasons, had not previously received the Sacrament. In preparation, they undertook a period of catechesis and spiritual formation, deepening their understanding of the faith and their commitment to the Church.

Through the Sacrament of Confirmation, they are now fully initiated members of the Catholic Church. We extend our heartfelt congratulations to them and continue to support them with our prayers as they journey forward in faith.

19th April 2025

During the Solemn Vigil of the Resurrection of our Lord at St John’s Co‑Cathedral, Archbishop Charles J. Scicluna administered the Sacraments of Christian Initiation (Baptism, Confirmation, Holy Communion) to 19 catechumens, who, as adults, have chosen the Christian path. These 19 adults have become new members of the Catholic Church through these sacraments.  The Catechumens hail from Albania, the United Kingdom, India, China, France, Malta, Turkey and the Philippines. These individuals have completed the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA) programme.

We welcome them into the Church and will continue to support them through our prayers.

Eight adults Confirmed on Pentecost Sunday

After several months of preparation, which included attending sessions of catechetical formation, eight adults have received the sacrament of Confirmation on Pentecost Sunday, 19th May 2024.  The Sacrament was administered by His Lordship Bishop Joseph Galea-Curmi at the Parish of Our Lady of the Annunciation in Balzan.  The adults who were confirmed hail from Malta, Brazil, France, Columbia and Germany.

The Mass was also attended by family members, those who assisted in their formation and those who received the Sacraments of Initiation during the Easter Vigil Mass earlier this year and were concluding their fifty-day period as newly baptised Catholics.
